It is one mainly parts of Plate tower,which was constructed by Tower Plate, downcomer and overflow weir, fasteners and supporting parts. When gas is rising from down to top, liquid flows down. In order to enlarge gas & liquid contacting area and increase mass transfer’s efficiency, Tower tray’s function is let gas & liquid’s fully contacting so as to ensure liquid’s maximum efficiency absorption.If the tower diameter is less than 800 mm,the tower tray is whole piece. Otherwise, it will be devide into many pieces.
According to the different classified Criteria, We classify the trays as follows:
1: Based on tray struture, it will devide into blister sheets, sieve plates, floating valve plates, mesh plates, tongue plates and the like
2: Based on he flow mode of gas-liquid two-phase,it will devide into cross-flow trays and counter-flow trays, or there are downcomer trays and no downcomer trays.
3: Based on liquid flow type, it will devide into single manifold, double manifold, U-shaped manifold and other manifolds (such as quadruple, stepped, toroidal, etc.).

Typical Application
used for oil refineries and applications where pressure drops are not critical. Conventionally columns operating under high or moderate pressures can be designed for trays for distillation purpose. Tray columns can also be designed to operate under atmospheric or partial vacuum or complete vacuum conditions.
