The earliest Metal Corrugated-plate packing was invented by Swiss Sulzer in 1977. They called Mellapak. It is formed from thin corrugated metallic plates, which plates has 4 mm pore, and uniform geometry arranged and neatly piled in the tower. Plate pore promotes liquid’s Radial dispersion and horizontal mixing. Plate’s Groove texture also improves liquid’s distribution and wettability.Since then, Structured packing’s apply, design, manufacture was widely promoted by many companies. Such as Swiss Kuhni’s Rombopak, Germany Montz’s Montz-pak, American Norton’s Intalox Structure packing, Jaeger’s Max-pak, Raschig’s Ralu-pac and so on.
